FACT: Liposuction is day care procedure or maybe patient has to stay in hospital overnight. The patient is admitted in the hospital with basic blood investigations and operated in a Major operation theater under general anesthesia or sedation (only where a proper general anesthesia facility is available). The surgeon makes small incisions in the area of liposuction and the procedure is done. It should never be done as a Out patient procedure.
FACT: Liposuction is a surgery and best performed by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. The surgery involves certain risks and a Plastic surgeon is the best person to handle the same. Many unqualified doctors claim of doing liposuction, kindly beware of them.
FACT: Fat dissolving injections cause lipolysis (breakdown of fat cells) where as Liposuction causes removal of fat cells from the body. The fat dissolving injections are not yet FDA approved and not safe to be used on patients. If the treating doctors say this treatment is FDA approved, kindly take in writing from him stating the same.
